New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : A unique case of humanity and compassion has emerged in the Nanapondha area of Valsad district, Gujarat. A member of the Wild Rescue Trust gave a new lease on life to a snake injured by electric shock by administering CPR for 25 minutes.
The snake fell 15 feet down after being electrocuted
This incident happened in Amdha village of Nanapondha. The snake Dhaman came in contact with an electric wire. As soon as it was electrocuted, it fell from a height of about 15 feet and became completely unconscious. Its breathing had also almost stopped. On getting the information, skilled rescuer Mukesh Vayad of Wild Rescue Trust reached the spot. He saw that the condition of the snake was very critical and if immediate help was not provided, its death was certain.

Mouth-to-mouth CPR was given for 25 minutes
Without any delay, Mukesh Vayad started giving CPR to the snake by giving it mouth-to-mouth air, just like humans. After continuously giving oxygen for about 25 minutes, the snake started regaining movement in its body and it started breathing. After the snake completely recovered, the team released it safely in the nearby forest. The Dhaman snake is not poisonous, but such a sensitive and courageous initiative is considered very rare in wildlife conservation.
