Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light in Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh, where around 50 students at a government primary school were allegedly served milk mixed with water under the mid-day meal scheme. The school, located in Dhikwaha village, has been accused of diluting Amul milk packets with water before serving it to the children. A video of the incident shows a cook pouring two half-litre Amul milk packets into a large bucket filled with water, while school staff are present. The teacher in charge is heard asking students to drink a glass of the diluted milk.

The incident has sparked outrage online, with many questioning the implementation of the nutrition scheme. The Basic Education Officer has ordered an inquiry and suspended the teacher in charge, Monika Soni. The district magistrate has also ordered a detailed magisterial inquiry into the matter. This is not the first such case reported from Uttar Pradesh, highlighting concerns about the quality of mid-day meals being served to students in the state.
