Seven vows and then she vanished: Bride missing just seven minutes after wedding

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) – A shocking incident has come to light in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. All the wedding rituals were complete—a grand welcome for the wedding procession, the varmala (wreath ceremony), the seven rounds, and preparations for the farewell. But just before the wedding, the bride mysteriously disappeared with her lover. The joyous atmosphere quickly turned into chaos, and the groom collapsed unconscious.
The commotion at the time of the farewell took place
in Banki town, Dakshin Tola, in the Kotwali area. The wedding procession was welcomed with great pomp and show. Everything was going on as usual, and no one had any idea that something serious was about to happen. But in the morning, when the bride, Pallavi, was called for her farewell, she was found missing from the house. The family searched for her but could not find her.
The groom had mortgaged his land for the wedding.
According to sources, the bride Pallavi's marriage was fixed with Sushil Gautam, a resident of Babaganj, Thana Ghunghater. The relationship was finalized three months ago. The groom had mortgaged three bighas of land to meet the wedding expenses. He had arrived at the wedding with 11 vans and about 90 wedding guests. At a time when the groom and his family were celebrating, the bride's sudden escape shocked everyone.
A heated argument ensued between the two sides, and the wedding party slowly began to leave. The groom and his family began a commotion, demanding compensation for the enormous wedding expenses, when the Banki police station in-charge arrived at the scene. Police say no formal complaint has been filed yet.
