Student Brutalized by Cop for Asking Questions: Video Sparks Outrage

Kanpur (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational video of police brutality has emerged from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and is rapidly going viral on social media. In the video, a policeman (outpost in-charge) not only abuses a student, but also brutally kicks and punches him. The accused policeman threatens the student, saying, "I will beat you unconscious." After the incident came to light, senior officials have ordered an investigation by placing the accused policeman under suspension.

This entire incident occurred at the Kidwai Nagar police post in the Kidwai Nagar police station area. According to reports, on October 5th, post in-charge Amit Vikram Tripathi stopped some students who were speeding and confiscated their bikes. When a student asked why the bikes were being seized, the post in-charge and a constable became enraged and began beating the student.

The viral video clearly shows the outpost in-charge kicking and punching the student while abusing him. The victim students say they admitted their mistake, but were still humiliated and beaten. The outpost in-charge can also be heard saying in the video, "I'm not afraid of anyone."

After the video went viral, the police department was shaken. DCP South took immediate cognizance of the matter and stated that the incident occurred on October 5th. He added that based on the video, the accused outpost in-charge, Amit Vikram Tripathi, has been placed on the line with immediate effect. The investigation of the entire case has been assigned to ACP Babu Purva. Upon the receipt of the investigation report, strict departmental action will be taken against the accused.
