The government clarified that all petrol pumps across the country have adequate stocks of petrol and diesel. Therefore, there is no need for people to fall prey to rumors and stockpile fuel at home. The ministry stated that at the petrol pump in Tamil Nadu where the video went viral, fuel was being dispensed in open and unsafe containers, a blatant violation of safety standards and will not be tolerated at any cost.
