Faisalabad (The Uttam Hindu): A massive gas explosion inside a factory in Faisalabad, Pakistan's Punjab province, has caused widespread devastation. At least 15 people have died and several others are seriously injured.

According to local authorities, the explosion was so powerful that the entire factory building collapsed on the spot. The blast also impacted the surrounding area, affecting seven homes. The cause of the accident was initially reported as a boiler explosion, but it was later clarified that the explosion was caused by a gas leak. This cause was also confirmed by the office of Faisalabad Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar.

So far, 15 bodies have been recovered from the debris. Ten of the injured have been hospitalized, while three were discharged after first aid. Given the severity of the accident, the administration has ordered the formation of a five-member inquiry committee to investigate the causes and responsibility for the explosion.
