Tehran/Washington (The Uttam Hindu): The ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran has entered its 27th day, with intensified military actions reported. Israeli forces carried out large-scale strikes around Isfahan, targeting key military installations.

According to claims by the United States Armed Forces, since the beginning of the war, nearly 10,000 Iranian targets have been attacked. The US also stated that about 92 percent of Iran’s naval vessels have been destroyed.

Local residents and media reports said loud explosions were heard in the Isfahan region on Thursday morning (March 26, 2026). The city hosts a major airbase and several strategic military facilities. Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency reported that strikes also hit two residential areas, though detailed information has not been disclosed.

The Israeli military described the operation as extensive, claiming that production zones and defense-related units were targeted. Several industrial sites in Isfahan province, linked to weapons manufacturing, were reportedly affected. However, Iran has not yet released a detailed damage assessment.

The conflict, ongoing for nearly four weeks, has seen continuous exchanges of attacks between both sides. Joint operations by Israel and the United States are said to be focused on weakening Iran’s missile and defense systems.

Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, Iran has intensified attacks on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. In Kuwait, two drone strikes hit fuel tanks at an international airport, causing a fire and disrupting air traffic. Emergency teams are working to control the situation.

Air raid sirens sounded three times within an hour in Kuwait. In Bahrain, a facility in Muharraq caught fire but was brought under control without casualties. Sirens were also reported in the United Arab Emirates, while Saudi Arabia claimed to have intercepted over a dozen drones and missiles in its eastern region.

These developments indicate that the conflict is no longer limited to Israel and Iran, but is now affecting the broader Gulf region’s security. Although many attacks have been intercepted, some drones have managed to damage sensitive installations.

Amid rising tensions, diplomatic efforts are also being discussed. Some reports suggested that Pakistan could act as a mediator and host talks. However, the United States has dismissed such reports as rumors, and Iran has clarified that no formal negotiations are currently underway. There is also no official confirmation regarding any potential talks in Pakistan or Turkey.
