New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): International flight services have remained disrupted for the past few days due to rising military tensions between Israel and Iran. Several cancellations left passengers stranded in different countries. Amid the uncertainty, some relief came when the first flight from Abu Dhabi landed safely at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, bringing comfort to returning passengers.
One traveler described the experience as extremely frightening. After their flight was canceled, the airline arranged accommodation in a hotel, but loud explosions were reportedly heard nearby. Missiles were being intercepted in the sky, creating panic and fear among those staying there. The passenger said the situation was terrifying, but expressed relief after safely returning to India.
However, the situation in the region remains tense. A large number of Indian students are still stranded in Iran, and the Government of India is making efforts to ensure their safe evacuation. Coordination is underway with Iranian authorities to facilitate their return.
Officials from the Iranian Consulate in Mumbai stated that necessary arrangements are being made to help Indian students move out of conflict-affected areas. They clarified that students do not require special permission to leave Iran and can exit through land borders.
All airports in Iran are currently closed for security reasons, making air travel unavailable. Students have been advised that they can leave via Iran’s borders with Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, and that a valid passport is sufficient for crossing.
Meanwhile, the military confrontation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran continues to escalate. According to media reports, more than 500 people have lost their lives in the ongoing attacks. Fresh explosions were reported in Tehran on Monday morning, while Iranian state media claimed that missiles struck residential areas in Sanandaj.
