New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)– Tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have intensified once again following a series of retaliatory actions along the border. Afghanistan’s Ministry of National Defense stated that its forces carried out counterattacks along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier, claiming that dozens of Pakistani soldiers were killed and several military posts and bases were taken under control. The developments have further heightened the already strained relations between the two countries.

Afghan authorities also stated that the Afghan Air Force conducted airstrikes on multiple locations in Pakistan, including areas in and around Islamabad. According to official claims, military installations near Faizabad were targeted, along with sites in Nowshera, Jamrud and Abbottabad. The strikes reportedly focused on army camps and barracks believed to be linked to Pakistani security forces.

Afghanistan described the action as retaliation for earlier attacks by Pakistani forces on Afghan territory. Officials said the previous strikes had caused civilian casualties, including women and children. The Afghan military stated that its response targeted Pakistani security positions across the Durand Line in eastern and southeastern sectors.
