Agreement possible with US, no deal if Israel is involved: Iran sets condition before talks

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu News): Iran has said that a possible agreement can be reached with the United States during the upcoming talks in Islamabad, but only under certain conditions.
Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said that a deal between Iran and the US is possible and could benefit both sides and the world. However, he clearly stated that if Israel is involved in the talks, then no agreement will be possible.
In a post on social media platform X, Aref said that if talks are held with representatives of “America First” in Islamabad, there is a chance of a beneficial deal. But if Iran is faced with “Israel First” representatives, then no agreement will be made and Iran will continue its defense with greater strength.
Ahead of the talks, an Iranian delegation also met Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad. According to Iranian state media, the format of the Iran-US talks is expected to be finalized after this meeting.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has also called on the international community to take responsibility regarding alleged US-Israel attacks and hold the attackers accountable.
During a phone conversation with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Araghchi shared details about recent military developments involving Iran. He urged countries to actively support international law and the UN Charter.
Araghchi accused the US of violating international commitments in the past. He said Iran accepted a ceasefire based on conditions such as ending the conflict, compensation for damages, and accountability for aggressors, calling it a responsible step.
Meanwhile, the German Foreign Minister supported an end to the conflict and stressed the need to stop Israeli attacks, especially in Lebanon. He also expressed hope that the proposed talks in Islamabad between Iran and the US could help restore peace and stability in the region.
