Amid Tensions with Trump, Modi Rolls Out Red Carpet for Putin

Washington (The Uttam Hindu) – Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to visit India amidst the tariff war of US President Donald Trump. It is likely that he will visit India this month and will meet PM Modi. Putin's visit has been confirmed by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval during his meeting with Russian Security Council chief Sergei Shoigu in Moscow.

It is being told that the dates for Putin's visit have not been announced yet. Doval's visit is being done with the aim of further strengthening the strategic relations between the two countries. US President Donald Trump had earlier imposed a 25% tariff on India. A few days after this, he announced that the US tariff on India will be increased in relation to the purchase of Russian oil.
