Pakistan's strange decision...promoting its army chief who surrendered before India

Pakistan (The Uttam Hindu): Pakistan is also a strange country, where one gets rewarded even for losing a war. The dictatorship of the army and the government in the country is such that the army has not been able to win a single war. But, their army chiefs have stars on their shoulders and uniforms. Syed Asim Munir has also received a similar reward.
Shahbaz Sharif's federal cabinet has approved the promotion of COAS Syed Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal. That is, the reward for beating India is going to shine on Asim Munir's chest in the form of a medal.
Asim Munir is the second person in the history of Pakistan to achieve this feat after Ayub Khan. General Asim Munir has been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal by the Federal Cabinet of Pakistan for leading Operation 'Bunyan ul Marsoos' and managing national security.
This is considered a rare honour in the history of Pakistan. Earlier, this honour was given to Ayub Khan, whose deeds have brought shame to the entire history of Pakistan.
In fact, the proposal for promotion of Asim Munir was made by Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, which has been approved by the federal cabinet. The government of Pakistan has given this award to Asim Munir as a reward for the attack on India by Pakistan after the attack on the terrorist bases of Pakistan by India on the night of 6 and 7 May and declaring victory on its own, i.e. being a self-sufficient person. When the world has come to know how the Pakistani army surrendered in front of the might of the Indian army.
Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir, who were boasting of victory to the people of Pakistan, have been continuously claiming that due to their unique military leadership they forced India to surrender, whereas the Indian government exposed the hollow claims of Pakistan one by one and showed the whole world with evidence that how Pakistan's condition became worse due to India's retaliatory military action.
Pakistan is not even ashamed, even after suffering such a bad wound at the hands of the Indian Army. According to the cabinet, the promotion has been given in recognition of General Asim Munir's brilliant military leadership, bravery and commitment to protect Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The cabinet members praised the armed forces for decisively defeating the enemy and appreciated the efforts of the army in protecting citizens and national interests on every front. The cabinet also read Fatiha for the martyrs of the conflict.
Meaning, the country that used to wrap the bodies of terrorists in Pakistani flags and take out their funeral processions and read Fateha on their graves was till now celebrating false victories. Now it is decorating the victory medals on the chest of its defeated army chief and is also promoting him.
The previous Pakistani Ayub Khan who received this honour had a dark history. Ayub Khan had the privilege of being the first indigenous army chief of Pakistan. He took charge of the Pakistan Army from 1951 to 1958. But in 1958, Ayub Khan sacked the then President Iskandar Ali Mirza and seized power by overthrowing him. Everyone knows that the idea of the 1965 Indo-Pak war was Ayub Khan's, but after the crushing defeat from India, there was a rebellion against him in Pakistan and he had to resign in 1969. This was the same Ayub Khan who studied at AMU and fought on behalf of Britain in the Second World War. After partition, he joined the Pakistani Army.
Ayub Khan holds the distinction of being the first military ruler of Pakistan. During his rule, the public came out on the streets against corruption and nepotism. In the 1965 presidential election, he allegedly rigged the elections and defeated Jinnah's sister Fatima. From 1968-69, there were many protests against Ayub Khan all over Pakistan and in the meantime he suffered a heart attack. Then a paralysis attack left him unable to walk and he was confined to a wheel chair.
Meaning, in all the wars that have taken place till date, the chiefs of the Pakistani army who got defeated by the Indian army have always remained happy and by feeding the people of that country the victory powder they have kept adorning their chests with medals.
