Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu): Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir has once again made an inflammatory statement against India regarding Kashmir. He praised the terrorists killed in Kashmir, calling them 'martyrs'. Not only this, Munir termed the terrorist activities going on in India's Jammu and Kashmir as a "legitimate conflict" and vowed to continue political, moral and diplomatic support from Pakistan for this alleged conflict.

In his address, General Munir used ambiguous language to try to justify Pakistan's support to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir as a "legitimate conflict". He promised to continue political, moral and diplomatic support to promote the proxy war. His statement is being seen as an indication of Islamabad's continued role in spreading unrest at the international level.

Asim Munir is notorious for his anti-India and anti-Kashmir statements. He has once again made provocative remarks against India over the Kashmir issue. In his recent speech, Munir said, "We stand firmly with the Kashmiri people for their rights and resolution of the decades-old dispute." He further said that what India calls terrorism is actually a "legitimate conflict" in line with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. During this, he also claimed that until a "just and peaceful solution" to the Kashmir issue is found, lasting peace cannot be established in South Asia. Munir paid tribute to the terrorists killed while spreading terrorism in Kashmir and called them "martyrs".
