Washington, D.C. (The Uttam Hindu): NASA has successfully completed the Artemis II mission, with all four astronauts returning safely after a historic 10-day journey around the Moon. The crew—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen—arrived at Johnson Space Center, where they were warmly welcomed by NASA officials and reunited with their families.

A once-in-a-lifetime journey

Describing the mission as a life-changing experience, Reid Wiseman said the crew would remain bonded forever. He shared that being over 200,000 miles away from Earth was both extraordinary and emotional, adding that while space feels like a dream, it also makes one deeply value family and life on Earth.

A unique sense of unity

Christina Koch highlighted the strong connection among crew members, calling it a team built on trust, sacrifice, and shared purpose. She described the moment of seeing Earth from the Orion spacecraft window as deeply moving, with the planet appearing small against the vast darkness of space. She emphasized a powerful realization: humanity itself is one crew living on a single planet.

‘Joy train’ and emotional reflections

Jeremy Hansen shared that the crew often used the phrase “joy train” to remind themselves to stay positive and connected. He said the experience was not just about space exploration, but about meaningful contribution and human connection. He added that astronauts reflect humanity itself, encouraging people to see their own potential in such achievements.

Gratitude and humility

Victor Glover brought a lighter tone to the emotional moment, admitting that he is still processing the magnitude of what they accomplished. He expressed gratitude to his family, team, and leadership, and thanked everyone involved in the mission. He described the experience as something far greater than words can capture.

The Artemis II mission marks a major step in human space exploration, offering not just scientific progress but also a profound perspective on Earth and humanity’s place in the universe.
