Baloch leader praises India's 'Operation Sindoor' as 'bold move', writes to Jaishankar amid concerns over China-Pakistan ties

Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational claim has emerged regarding a deepening alliance between Pakistan and China. Renowned Baloch leader and human rights activist Mir Yar Baloch has written a letter to Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, expressing concern that China may deploy its troops in Pakistan's Balochistan region within the next few months. In his letter, the Baloch leader not only expressed concern about Chinese interference but also praised India's "Operation Sindoor" in 2025.
Dragon's move: Chinese troops arrive in Balochistan
In a letter to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, Mir Yar Baloch stated that the alliance between Beijing and Islamabad is a danger signal for the Baloch people. He claimed that China is now seeking to directly deploy its military (PLA) in Balochistan in the name of protecting its economic interests. He wrote that Balochistan has suffered decades of repression under Pakistani control, including state-sponsored violence and gross human rights violations. The arrival of Chinese forces could further worsen the situation.
Operation Sindoor broke the back of terrorism
In his New Year 2026 message, the Baloch leader praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He specifically mentioned Operation Sindoor, carried out by the Indian Army in 2025.
It is worth noting that following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 last year (2025), India launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation, destroying Pakistan-backed terrorist bases. Calling it a "bold and determined move," Mir Baloch said it demonstrated India's commitment to regional security and justice.
Global Diplomatic Week announced
Baloch nationalist leaders declared symbolic independence from Pakistan in May 2025. In response, Mir Baloch announced that the Republic of Balochistan will celebrate Balochistan Global Diplomatic Week in the first week of 2026. Its aim is to establish direct diplomatic relations with countries around the world.
Hinglaj Mata Temple is our shared heritage
Recalling the cultural ties with India, he wrote, "The Hinglaj Mata Temple (Nani Mandir) is a symbol of our shared heritage and spiritual ties." On behalf of the 60 million citizens of Balochistan, he extended New Year greetings to the 1.4 billion people of India and expressed hope that the historical and cultural ties would further strengthen.
