Tehran/Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu): Amid rising tensions in West Asia, crucial peace talks between the United States and Iran are scheduled to take place in Islamabad on Saturday. Ahead of these talks, the visit of Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has intensified diplomatic activity.

Ghalibaf drew global attention by delivering a symbolic message during his यात्रा. Inside the aircraft he used to reach Islamabad, images of victims from the Minab school attack were placed on empty seats. This move is being seen as an attempt to create moral pressure on the United States before the talks.

Sharing a post on X, he wrote, “My companions on this flight, Minab168,” referring to the victims of the February 28, 2026 attack on a primary school in Minab. The incident reportedly resulted in the deaths of more than 165 people and left over 100 injured.

According to Tasnim News Agency, Ghalibaf stated upon arrival that Iran is entering the talks with good intentions but without trust. He подчеркнул that past negotiations with the US have repeatedly failed and agreements were not honored.

This development highlights the deep mistrust between both sides ahead of the peace talks. Despite diplomatic efforts, the upcoming negotiations are expected to remain challenging due to longstanding differences and past experiences.
