Canada revises immigration policy, Indian applicants likely to benefit
Canada has relaxed immigration rules, including super visa norms, offering significant benefits to indian applicants and families.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Canada has introduced key changes to its immigration system, impacting visa applicants, residents and workers while offering relief in several areas.
Passport and citizenship fees have been slightly increased with a new 30-day processing guarantee for passport applications, failing which applicants will get a full refund.
The Super Visa program has been relaxed, allowing sponsors to meet income criteria from the past two years and include parents’ or grandparents’ income. The visa allows stays of up to five years per visit.
Provinces have been given greater control in assessing applicants, while settlement support for migrants has been extended. Rural employers can also hire more low-wage foreign workers under the revised rules.
