Hyderabad (The Uttam Hindu): Dr. Rohini, a 38-year-old Hyderabad resident, committed suicide due to stress caused by being denied a US visa. Her body was recovered from her Padma Nagar apartment. Police recovered a suicide note in which she wrote about the increased mental pressure caused by the visa rejection.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Rohini either overdosed on sleeping pills or received some kind of injection. The exact cause of death will be determined by the postmortem report. Police are also investigating the case from other angles.


Rohini, originally from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, lived alone in a rented flat in Hyderabad. On the morning of November 22nd, her domestic help arrived at the flat. When she received no response despite repeated knocking and calling, she alerted Rohini's family. A family member then arrived at the flat, broke open the door, and found Rohini dead inside. Police have registered a case and begun further investigation.
