Donald Trump faces backlash as 59% Americans call Iran action excessive
Poll shows nearly 6 in 10 Americans disapprove of US military action in Iran, calling it excessive.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Iran's ongoing conflict with the US and Israel is about to complete a month, but no agreement has been reached on a ceasefire yet. Iran is not ready to bow down and attacks in the Gulf region are continuing. Meanwhile, a new survey has indicated that this ongoing war in the Middle East could create political difficulties for US President Donald Trump. According to a survey by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, about 59 percent of American citizens believe that US military action against Iran has gone too far.
The survey conducted in the fourth week of the conflict found that while Trump's overall approval rating remains stable, the political impact of the war is rapidly increasing. The Trump administration has deployed additional warships and troops to the Middle East, further escalating the situation. Dissatisfaction with the military campaign is growing among the American public, with approximately 74 percent opposing the deployment of ground troops. Meanwhile, public concern about rising gasoline prices and a protracted war is also deepening.
According to the survey, approximately 45 percent of Americans are extremely concerned about fuel costs in the coming months. However, two-thirds believe that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons should be a key foreign policy priority for the United States. Similarly, an equal number emphasize the need to control domestic oil and gas prices. Overall, the ongoing military campaign against Iran is now posing a significant challenge for the Trump administration, both in foreign policy and domestic terms.
