Trump claimed israel would stop its military action against iran whenever he decides, highlighting his influence in the conflict.
Washington (The Uttam Hindu): Donald Trump said on Thursday that Israel will follow his instructions and if he decides to end the war against Iran, Israel will also stop the attacks.
"They'll do what I tell them to. They've been good team players. When I decide to stop, they'll stop," Trump said in an interview with Time magazine, adding that Israel would have no choice but to respond in the event of provocation.
However, Trump's statement differs from his earlier interview in which he said that the decision to end the war would be taken in consultation with Benjamin Netanyahu.
Analysts believe that if the US reduces its support, Netanyahu's strategic options may be limited.
Trump stressed US military capability, saying the US military is one of the most powerful in the world and that so far Iran's infrastructure, such as bridges and power plants, has not been fully targeted.
However, despite Trump's claim that Iran's missile program has been largely destroyed following the joint US-Israeli strikes, intelligence reports indicate that Tehran still possesses significant missile launch capabilities. Despite the continued attacks, Iran's military stockpile has not been completely depleted.
