Iran offers 5.5 million rupees bounty for capture of downed US pilot
Iran claims to have shot down a US F-15 fighter jet, with one pilot missing and a reward offered for his capture. The US is conducting a search and rescue operation amidst escalating tensions

Tehran (The Uttam Hindu): The ongoing war between Iran and America has now reached a very dangerous turning point. Iran has made a sensational claim of shooting down America's most powerful F-15 fighter plane on Friday. Since this horrific incident, an American pilot has gone missing on Iranian soil, for whom the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been searching day and night. The situation has become so tense that the US Army is struggling to find its missing soldier, while Iran has announced a huge reward for anyone who captures or kills him, due to which America's worries have reached the seventh sky.
A bumper reward of Rs 55 lakh has been offered for the missing American pilot
The Iranian administration wants to capture this American pilot at any cost. According to reports, the local administration has appealed to the public that if anyone captures this enemy soldier alive or kills him, they will be rewarded richly. The governors of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces have announced a hefty reward of 10 billion Tomans, or approximately 5.5 million rupees, for anyone who captures and hands over the American pilot. This announcement has become a major diplomatic and military challenge for the United States.
There was also heavy firing on the rescue operation
US officials have confirmed that two pilots were on board the crashed F-15E. One of the pilots was rescued safely on Friday, but the search for the other pilot is still ongoing. On Friday, the US sent rescue helicopters and other aircraft to search for the missing pilot, but they too came under heavy fire from Iran. However, the US aircraft somehow managed to escape safely. Iran has also claimed to have targeted another US A-10 aircraft, which crashed in Kuwait, although its pilot ejected safely in time.
After 23 years, superpower America suffered its biggest setback
This aggressive action by Iran is being considered a major military setback for the United States. Military experts say that this is the first time in 23 years that an American fighter jet has been shot down in this manner during a war. The previous such incident occurred during the Iraq War in 2003. The US administration now fears that if its missing pilot is captured alive by Iran, he could be taken hostage, which would escalate the war into an even more horrific one.
Iran's taunt and rising rebellious voices within America
Amidst this entire incident, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf sharply criticized former US President Donald Trump and the US administration. He said that America's war, which began with the aim of regime change, has now been reduced to a search for a missing pilot. Meanwhile, deep divisions have emerged within the US itself regarding this war. Many leaders and officials oppose the ground invasion, recalling past mistakes in the Iraq and Vietnam wars. However, despite these protests, the US has deployed thousands of troops to the Middle East, significantly increasing the likelihood of a ground operation in the coming days.
