Fuel tank damaged in collision
Police officials stated that during the landing, the aircraft’s right wing struck a car, causing the fuel tank to loosen and crash into the rear of an SUV, entering the vehicle. Following the incident, the concerned road was temporarily closed for safety reasons, leading to traffic disruption. Authorities also issued alerts warning commuters about possible delays.
Technical fault reported shortly after take-off
According to available information, the aircraft had taken off from Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville and was headed to Cherokee County Regional Airport in Canton. Shortly after take-off, the pilot noticed a technical issue in the engine. The pilot then attempted to return to Gainesville Airport, but due to reduced power, the aircraft had to make an emergency landing on the road. Concerned agencies are currently investigating the incident and examining the cause of the technical failure in the aircraft.
