Prime Minister Rabuka was welcomed by Union Minister Sukanto Majumdar at the airport. This visit will further deepen partnership in diverse areas."
During his visit to India, the Prime Minister of Fiji will hold talks with PM Narendra Modi on Monday. Prime Minister Modi will host a lunch for the Prime Minister of Fiji. After this, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will meet Indian President Draupadi Murmu. Let us tell you that President Murmu visited Fiji in August 2024.
The Indian Foreign Ministry believes that this visit of Prime Minister Rabuka underlines the long-standing, strong and enduring relations between India and Fiji. This visit reaffirms the commitment of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations in all areas and further deepen the ties between our people.
The visit comes at a time when India and Fiji held the sixth round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in Suva, Fiji in July 2025. During this, the two countries reviewed and discussed enhancing cooperation in key areas such as health, education, capacity building, trade and investment, agriculture, renewable energy, climate change and cultural exchange.
The Indian delegation was led by Secretary (South) of the Ministry of External Affairs Nina Malhotra, while Fiji was represented by Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs Riseley Taga. Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthen bilateral relations and maintain high-level political contacts.
