New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A fresh controversy has erupted over the meeting permission for Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is currently lodged in jail. His family was once again denied permission to meet him on Tuesday. In protest, his sister Aleema Khan and hundreds of PTI leaders staged a sit-in outside Adiala Jail late at night. They alleged that Imran Khan has been kept in illegal isolation for a long time and is facing both physical and mental harassment.

During the protest at the jail gate, Aleema Khan said she has been visiting every Tuesday for the last eight months, yet she has not been allowed to meet her brother. She claimed that Imran Khan is being “tortured” and accused the government of ignoring court orders.

Hundreds of PTI leaders participated in the demonstration and expressed serious concerns about Imran Khan’s health and safety. Heavy security was deployed around Adiala Jail to prevent any disturbance. The situation grew tense when senior PTI leaders—Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and KP provincial chief Junaid Akbar Khan—also joined the sit-in.

According to reports, the court had permitted meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but despite this, the jail administration repeatedly denied access to the family. This has further angered PTI leaders. On December 2, Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan was allowed to meet him after nearly a month, but the meeting lasted only about 20 minutes. She claimed that although Imran Khan appeared physically fine, he was facing “psychological torture” inside the jail. She also accused Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, of subjecting him to mental harassment.
