Former US envoy blames Trump’s arrogance and greed for souring India–Pakistan ties

Washington (The Uttam Hindu): Former Japanese Ambassador to the US, Rahm Emanuel, has launched a scathing attack on President Donald Trump, alleging that Trump, due to his "arrogance and greed for a small sum of money from Pakistan," destroyed America's 40-year-old strategic relationship with India.
Emmanuel said that Trump harmed the US-India relationship due to his self-interest and ego. According to him, Trump "put at stake a decades-long strategic partnership with India for a few bucks and personal interests."
Arrogance and greed for Pakistan's money ruined relations with India, former US ambassador attacks Trump: He further said, "President Trump ruined relations with India because his ego got in the way and money from Pakistan was given to his son." Emmanuel alleged that the Trump administration's wrong policies and politics of personal gain destroyed 40 years of strategic planning between the US and India. He said that this is a big strategic mistake, which China is taking advantage of.
According to him, Pakistan not only provided money to Trump's son but also to the son of businessman Witkoff. This situation represents a "dangerous turning point" for America's long-term Indo-Pacific interests. Trump's actions have damaged America's credibility and allowed China to gain an edge in Asia. Rahm Emanuel previously served as Mayor of Chicago and Chief of Staff to Barack Obama. His comments have caused a stir in American political circles.
