Former US President seen in hot tub with girls, images linked to Epstein case spark controversy

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A fresh batch of files linked to the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case has been made public in the United States. The US Department of Justice has released more than 300,000 documents, including several photographs, connected to the investigation. The department said efforts were made to protect the identities of victims, though some information may still emerge unintentionally.
The newly released material reportedly mentions several high-profile personalities. According to officials, some documents are still being withheld due to ongoing investigations, and further disclosures may follow. The case, which has drawn global attention for months, is considered highly sensitive, and officials say it is too early to assess its full political impact.
Jeffrey Epstein faced serious allegations of sexual abuse involving minors before his death in jail. Since then, related documents have been released in phases, repeatedly drawing public and political scrutiny. The appearance of prominent names has made the issue even more controversial.
The role of US President Donald Trump has also remained under discussion. During his election campaign, Trump had promised to make the Epstein files public. However, after taking office, he described the issue as a “Democratic deception” and initially showed reluctance in releasing the documents, urging Republican lawmakers to oppose it. This stance reportedly caused dissatisfaction even among some of his supporters.
Amid rising political pressure, Trump signed the “Epstein Files Transparency Act” on November 19, after it was passed by the US Congress with a large majority. Following this, the documents were released.
Among the images now circulating, photographs allegedly linked to former President Bill Clinton have drawn particular attention. Clinton has earlier expressed regret over his association with Epstein but has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities. His representatives have said that his ties with Epstein ended before the crimes became public and that the release of old, unclear images does not change the facts.
Meanwhile, opposition leaders have continued to question the Trump administration, calling the disclosures incomplete and alleging that key information is still being withheld.
