Gas cylinder explosion rocks Supreme Court, 4 injured in blast

Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu) : A gas cylinder exploded near the staff canteen located in the basement of Pakistan's Supreme Court building on Tuesday. Four employees were injured in the blast. Repairs were underway to the building's central air conditioner system at the time of the incident. The explosion caused panic within the premises, and lawyers and staff immediately rushed to the exits.
The blast shook the Supreme Court building and caused chaos. Lawyers, judges' staff, and other employees immediately rushed out of the court upon hearing the cylinder explosion, creating panic among the people. The loud explosion resonated far and wide. Rescue teams and security personnel arrived at the scene within minutes. The injured employees, who were working near the AC plant, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where their condition is reported to be out of danger.
The explosion was so powerful that it was heard in the surrounding area, and the basement was briefly filled with smoke. The blast damaged canteen furniture and some fittings, but did not cause any major structural damage to the building. Regular operations at the Supreme Court have resumed after security checks.
