Tehran/Tel Aviv (The Uttam Hindu): Amid tensions in the Middle East, Iran and Yemen's Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for attacks on Israel. According to Al Jazeera, the Houthi rebels said they targeted Israel's Ben Gurion Airport and several military bases in southern Israel.

According to Houthi rebels, cluster missiles and drones were used in the attack, although these claims have not been independently verified.

Meanwhile, the Iranian military also announced that it had carried out a massive drone campaign targeting several strategic locations within the same Israeli aviation hub. According to Iranian state media, the operation was carried out on a large scale.

According to the report, the targets included a control tower, key operations centres connected to Terminals 1 and 2, navigation systems, antennas and radar equipment.

According to the Iranian military command, the operation, which involved the use of a large number of drones, was launched early Saturday morning and aimed to damage the electronic command and coordination infrastructure related to military air traffic.

The Iranian military also said the action was aimed at disrupting the guidance systems of fighter jets and weakening the adversary's surveillance and electronic warfare capabilities.

Iran has presented the military action as a response to alleged aggression by the US and Israel. The military has reiterated its resolve to avenge those killed in recent attacks and warned that its operations could continue.
