Imran Khan secretly taken to hospital at midnight, family raises serious questions; what is the full matter

Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu): Since being removed from power in Pakistan, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has continued to face difficulties. In the early hours of Tuesday, tension rose after he was quietly brought to a hospital at around 2 a.m. Khan, who has been in jail for more than three years, was shifted without prior public information. The sudden medical visit increased concern among his supporters and family members, as neither his personal doctors nor his relatives were allowed to meet him.

Right eye vision reduced, second injection administered

Imran Khan was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) due to a serious eye condition. According to available information, only about 15 percent vision remains in his right eye. Hospital authorities stated that a course of three injections has been planned for his treatment, and this was the second dose. The third injection is scheduled for March 24. After receiving treatment under medical supervision and once his condition was declared stable, he was shifted back to Adiala Jail.

PTI questions midnight treatment, seeks clarity

After a video of Khan being taken to the hospital at 2 a.m. surfaced on social media, his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly objected. PTI leader Gohar Ali Khan questioned the government’s intentions and asked why the treatment was conducted secretly. He demanded full disclosure of Khan’s health condition and medical procedures to his supporters. He also stated that Khan should receive treatment at Shifa International Hospital in the presence of his personal doctors and family members.

Family expresses distrust over medical reports

Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan also reacted strongly, expressing distrust in the government and the medical reports provided. She said that legally, the family of a prisoner should be informed about medical treatment, but they learned about the hospital visit through the media. She alleged that doctors were warned not to share any information. On the other hand, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry clarified that Khan was taken to the hospital under full security and legal procedures, and doctors have reported improvement in his eye condition.
