New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): India has officially rejected the allegations leveled by the Bangladesh government under Muhammad Yunus. The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement, responding to Dhaka's recent press note, saying India has never allowed its territory to be used for any activities against Bangladesh.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that India completely rejects the claims made by the interim government of Bangladesh in the press note issued on December 14, 2025.

What allegations did Bangladesh make?

It should be noted that this statement from the Indian Foreign Ministry comes at a time when the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry recently summoned the Indian High Commission and objected to Sheikh Hasina's statements. Bangladesh alleges that Sheikh Hasina is attempting to incite violence while abroad. Following this, India reiterated its support for the democratic process in Bangladesh. The Indian Foreign Ministry stated that it has consistently advocated for free, inclusive, fair, and credible elections in Bangladesh. This must take place in a peaceful environment.

The Ministry of External Affairs' statement also refuted allegations that India's territory was being used against Bangladesh's interests. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs categorically stated that India has never allowed its territory to be used for activities against the interests of the friendly people of Bangladesh. India also urged Bangladesh to maintain law and order in its country and take all necessary steps to ensure that the elections are conducted in a peaceful environment.
