India Won’t Stop Buying Russian Oil, Rejects Trump’s Pressure with Firm Market‑Driven Reply

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): India has decided to continue buying oil from Russia, ignoring the tariff actions of America. India's oil refineries continue to get oil from Russian companies, completely rejecting the claim of President Trump.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs was asked about the purchase of oil from Russia. He replied, 'As far as sourcing of energy needs is concerned, our attitude is already clear on that. The price at which the oil is sold in the international market is decided keeping in view the global environment. As far as the news of Indian oil companies stopping Russian imports is concerned, there is no information about it.
At the same time, the companies which buy oil from Russia say that they have not received any order to stop buying oil from Russia. Oil companies said that no such discussions are going on. It is clear from the statements of oil companies that India is not going to stop buying oil from Russia under US pressure.
In fact, according to a media report, when Trump was asked if he was planning to talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue or impose a fine on India, he said, "I have heard that India will no longer buy oil from Russia. I have heard this, but I don't know whether it is true or not. If it is so, then it is a good step. Now let's see what happens next."
