Davos (The Uttam Hindu): The World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026, being held in the snowy valleys of Switzerland, is echoing India's growing economic power. US President Donald Trump is the centre of attraction at this most influential economic forum of the world, which began on January 19. After his address, President Trump has organized a special 'reception dinner' for selected leaders of the global industry. It is a matter of pride that 7 leading CEOs from India are going to participate in this high-profile dinner, which shows that the Indian corporate sector has now come to play a central role on the map of the global economy.

These Indian dignitaries got the opportunity to have dinner with Trump

The list of industrialists representing India at President Trump's table is impressive. Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran is the most prominent name, whose contributions are recognized globally. Telecom giant and Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Mittal will also be a part of the dinner. Representing the auto and tech sectors, Mahindra Group Group Chief Executive Anish Shah, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh, and Wipro CEO Srini Pallia will also join Trump for the dinner. From the financial sector, Bajaj Finserv Chairman and MD Sanjiv Bajaj and Jubilant Bhartia Group Founder Hari S. Bhartia will also be present.

Visa, tariff and investment may be an important topic of discussion.

The purpose of this dinner is not just a meeting, but a dialogue on serious economic issues. It is expected that key issues related to trade, investment, technology, and policymaking will be discussed at the dinner table. In particular, President Trump's foreign and trade policies, such as H-1B visa rules and tariff reforms, are highly likely to be discussed. Visa policies are expected to be discussed in the presence of CEOs of Indian IT companies. Trump's presence at the 2026 Davos summit and the participation of Indian industrialists indicate that India will play a pivotal role in future global economic strategies.

Brainstorming on the theme 'A Spirit of Dialogue'

It is noteworthy that approximately 3,000 public representatives and over 850 top CEOs from more than 130 countries are participating in this mega event, which runs until January 23. This year's Davos conference is being held under the theme "A Spirit of Dialogue," which aims to debate global business challenges and open avenues for new global partnerships.
