Indian embassy in Dubai urges citizens to avoid non-essential travel amid regional tensions

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian Embassy in Dubai has issued an advisory for its citizens. The Indian Embassy has advised Indian citizens living there to avoid non-essential travel.
The Indian Embassy in Dubai wrote on the social media platform X, "Given the current situation in the region, all Indian nationals in the UAE are advised to avoid non-essential travel. Please exercise utmost care, remain vigilant and follow the safety guidelines and advisories issued by the UAE authorities and the Embassy."
"The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai are operating normally and will issue updates as needed. For any emergency queries, Indian nationals in the UAE can contact the toll-free number: 800-46342 and WhatsApp +971543090571."
Two Iranian drone strikes on the US Embassy in Riyadh caused a fire and damaged property. The US Embassy subsequently issued an advisory. Following the attack, the US Embassy issued a shelter-in-place advisory for Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran via X. It also announced a ban on non-essential travel to military bases in the region and urged US citizens living in Saudi Arabia to seek shelter immediately.
"The U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia is monitoring the situation in the region. We encourage all travelers to review our latest security alerts. Please review your travel plans for any disruptions and make informed decisions to keep yourself and your family safe," the statement said.
It added, "We recommend all U.S. citizens maintain a personal safety plan. Unexpected difficulties can arise while traveling or living abroad, and a good plan helps you think through potential scenarios and determine the best course of action in advance."
