Indian-Origin Woman Raped in Racial Attack in Britain; CCTV of Accused Released

London (The Uttam Hindu): In another shocking incident in the UK, an Indian-origin woman was raped in a racially motivated attack in northern England. This comes just a month after a similar assault on a Sikh woman in the country. The West Midlands Police have launched an investigation and released CCTV footage of the suspect to help trace him.

According to police, the investigation began after receiving a distress call from a woman on Saturday evening from the Park Hall area of Walsall. The crime has been registered as a “racially aggravated assault.”

Police Begin Manhunt

Detective Superintendent Ronan Tyrer, who is leading the investigation, described it as “one of the most horrific attacks committed against a woman.” He stated, “We are doing everything possible to arrest the offender. Our teams are gathering evidence and profiling the suspect to ensure his early capture.”

Police have appealed to the public to share any information if they saw anyone suspicious in the area.

As per the CCTV footage released by West Midlands Police, the suspect has been identified as a 30-year-old white male with short hair.

Community Groups Condemn the Incident

According to the Sikh Federation UK, the victim in the Walsall incident is a Punjabi woman. The organization stated that the attacker broke into her house and raped her, describing the act as both violent and racially charged.

The group also mentioned that two racially motivated rape cases involving 20-year-old women have been reported in the West Midlands region over the past two months.

Earlier, in September, another similar attack took place in Oldbury, also under West Midlands Police jurisdiction, where a Sikh woman was assaulted near Teme Road before 8:30 a.m. on September 9.
