Paris (The Uttam Hindu): After India's 'Operation Sindoor', a big international propaganda of China has been exposed. A French intelligence report has revealed that China spread a big lie using its embassies across the world during the Indo-Pak war to weaken the sale of Rafale fighter planes to France. China's aim was to increase the sale of its fighter planes by tarnishing the reputation of Rafale.

How was the lie spread?

According to a French intelligence report seen by the Associated Press (AP), China used defense officials posted in its foreign embassies to mislead countries (such as Indonesia) that have already purchased or are interested in purchasing Rafale. These countries were told that Indian Rafale planes had suffered heavy damage in the Indo-Pak conflict in May, which was a blatant lie.

Campaign run in collaboration with Pakistan

China also took the help of Pakistan in this campaign. Pakistan falsely claimed that it had shot down five Indian planes, including three Rafales. According to the report, to spread this lie, China and Pakistan together ran an organized "disinformation" campaign on social media. In this, fake pictures of Rafale's wreckage, AI-created videos and even scenes from video games were used. During this, more than 1,000 new social media accounts were created, whose aim was to show the superiority of Chinese technology.

China and France's reaction to the allegations

Reacting to this report, Beijing's Defense Ministry has termed it as "baseless rumor and slander". At the same time, the French Defense Ministry says that Rafale was "deliberately targeted" because it is not just an aircraft but a symbol of France's strategic autonomy, industrial credibility and international partnership.

Experts believe that this is part of China's larger strategy, under which it wants to weaken France's growing defense relations with Asian countries. Let us tell you that France's Dassault Aviation Company has so far sold 533 Rafale jets, out of which 323 have been exported to eight countries including India.
