Iran’s master plan amid Trump threat: Tehran calls for human chains to shield power plants
Amid rising tensions, Iran has urged citizens to form human chains around key power plants to deter potential US strikes following Donald Trump’s warning targeting critical infrastructure.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran have escalated sharply as Donald Trump issued a deadline to Tehran over the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that failure to comply could lead to US strikes on critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges. In response to the growing threat, authorities in Tehran have called on citizens to form “human chains” to help safeguard key installations.
The deadline set by Trump is expected to expire early Wednesday, while Iran has mobilized public participation ahead of it. The country’s Ministry of Sport and Youth has appealed to athletes, students, artists and young people to gather near nuclear sites and power facilities. This move is being presented as both a symbolic and protective effort during a period of heightened geopolitical tension.
Iran’s Minister of Youth Affairs, Alireza Rahimi, stated that the initiative—titled “Human Chain of Iran’s Youth for a Bright Future”—was proposed by students and youth groups. He emphasized that the campaign represents not only the protection of national infrastructure but also the determination of Iran’s younger generation to stand united for the country’s future amid external threats.
