Diplomacy wins: India brings rival nations together to evacuate 640 Indians from Iran
Through complex diplomacy with multiple countries, India safely evacuated 640 citizens from conflict-hit Iran.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hind): Amidst the deepening crisis of war in West Asia, India has performed a diplomatic miracle, which was generally considered impossible, to safely evacuate Indian citizens stranded in Iran. Due to the unprecedented activism of the Indian Embassy and the Ministry of External Affairs, Indians from Iran are being safely transported by road to Armenia and Azerbaijan. The most surprising thing is that Armenia and Azerbaijan are not only bitter enemies of each other, but Azerbaijan's relations with India have also been very tense. During 'Operation Sindoor', Azerbaijan openly supported Pakistan, but now, in the face of India's diplomatic strength, it has also opened its doors for help.
Successful rescue of 640 civilians in two days, including 284 pilgrims
Despite this extremely complex and tense situation, 640 Indians have been safely evacuated from Iran within the last two days. Out of these, 550 citizens have been successfully transported to the border of Armenia and 90 Indians to the border of Azerbaijan, from where concrete arrangements are now being made to send them to their home country or other safe places. Giving information about this mission, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that among these citizens evacuated from Tehran, 284 are pilgrims who had gone there on a religious pilgrimage.
The Indian Embassy is facing a communication blackout and a threat.
According to official figures, approximately 9,000 Indians are currently living in Iran, the largest number of whom are students. Additionally, many business people, religious pilgrims, and ship workers are also stranded there. In the current war-like situation, the Indian Mission's top priority is to evacuate students and other vulnerable groups to safety as quickly as possible. Sources say that due to the escalating tensions in West Asia, security in Iran has become completely unstable and communication channels have virtually collapsed. In many areas, contact is possible only with government permission. Amidst these life-threatening and difficult circumstances, officials at the Indian Embassy in Tehran are continuously carrying out rescue operations at great risk.
