Tehran (The Uttam Hindu): Iran has firmly rejected Pakistan’s attempt to act as a mediator amid rising tensions in West Asia. Tehran made it clear that it will not engage with any delegation led by the United States in Pakistan and has also termed US demands as unacceptable, dimming hopes for a quick resolution to the crisis.

According to sources, Pakistan had tried to position itself as a potential intermediary, claiming it could facilitate dialogue between Iran and the United States. However, due to deep-rooted mistrust between Iran and Pakistan, Tehran is unwilling to allow Islamabad any role in the negotiations, dealing a major setback to Pakistan’s diplomatic initiative.

Possible mediation through Qatar

Despite rejecting Pakistan’s role, there appears to be a limited positive signal. Reports suggest that Iran may consider mediation efforts through Qatar, a key regional player, indicating that diplomatic channels are not entirely closed.

Iran escalates military response

Meanwhile, regional tensions continue to intensify. The Iranian military has claimed that it has completed the 93rd wave of its retaliatory campaign against US-Israel actions.

According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), it carried out precision strikes on Israeli military positions in occupied territories. The group also claimed to have targeted Israeli concentrations and support centers in areas including western Galilee, Haifa, Kafr Kanna, and Krayot.

These developments highlight the ongoing escalation in the region, with diplomatic efforts facing significant hurdles even as military actions continue.
