New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Despite global perception that recent talks between Iran and the United States in Islamabad had reached a dead end, Tehran has made it clear that dialogue is still ongoing. The Iranian government has rejected claims that negotiations have completely collapsed and indicated that efforts for a resolution will continue.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that the process is far from over and both sides remain open to further discussions. He emphasized that given decades of mistrust and recent tensions, it is unrealistic to expect all issues to be resolved in a single round. According to him, while some progress has been made, key differences still remain on a few major issues.

Baghaei also noted that the current talks are taking place under complex circumstances, especially after recent conflicts that have deepened mistrust. He said no major agreement was expected in the initial meeting and stressed that future progress will depend largely on the US approach. Iran has indicated that it will continue diplomatic efforts, making it clear that further rounds of talks are likely in the coming days.
