New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Iran’s armed forces on Saturday warned that if the country’s oil and energy infrastructure is attacked, it will retaliate by targeting energy facilities belonging to companies cooperating with the United States in the region. The warning comes at a time when US President Donald Trump has claimed that American forces destroyed military installations on Iran’s key oil hub, Kharg Island. The island serves as the main terminal for nearly 90 percent of Iran’s oil exports.

According to Iranian media reports, the Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian armed forces issued a statement saying that any attack on Iran’s energy facilities would be met with immediate retaliation against oil and energy infrastructure belonging to companies working with the United States.

The statement further said that any attempt to target Iran’s oil and energy infrastructure would be answered by turning American-linked energy facilities into “ashes.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that Iran’s plans to dominate the Middle East and destroy Israel had now failed. Writing on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran aimed to expand its influence across the Middle East and eliminate Israel, but those plans had now been thwarted.
