Iran warns US and Israel of retaliation amid rising tensions

Tehran/Washington (The Uttam Hindu) : Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has issued a stern warning to the US, saying that if Iran is attacked as per the threats of US President Donald Trump, then along with the US military, Israel will also be on the list of legitimate targets of Iran.

Qalibaf's statement comes amid strong protests against the United States in the Iranian parliament. During the session, several lawmakers climbed onto the podium and chanted "Death to America." Qalibaf stated that Iran is fully prepared to retaliate against any aggression.

Tensions escalate after Trump's signal

It's worth noting that US President Donald Trump recently provided a major indication of his policy toward Iran. According to US media reports, on Sunday, the US military briefed President Trump on options for a potential attack on Iran. Following this, tensions in West Asia have escalated further.

Israel on High Alert

Israel has been placed on high alert in anticipation of a possible US attack. According to a Reuters report, Israeli security agencies are on high alert for possible US military action against Iran. Several high-level security meetings have been held in recent days.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation on Saturday, according to sources. The possibility of US intervention in Iran was discussed.

Meanwhile, a report in the British newspaper Daily Mail claims that President Trump has directed the US military to prepare contingency plans for potential military options related to Greenland.
