Man Hides Mother’s Body in Apartment Toilet for 10 Years, Know the Dark Secret Behind It

Japan(The Uttam Hindu): A shocking case from Kobe city in Japan’s Hyogo Prefecture has surfaced where 60-year-old Takehisa Miyawaki was arrested for hiding his mother’s body in their apartment for nearly a decade.

Miyawaki, an unemployed man living with his 95-year-old mother, admitted that she died about 10 years ago in the toilet, but due to severe social anxiety, he neither informed the authorities nor arranged her funeral. The incident came to light when a local government worker noticed Miyawaki limping on the street and, upon questioning about his mother, received evasive answers, prompting suspicion and a police visit.

When police searched the flat in June, they found piles of garbage and discovered skeletal remains in the toilet. Miyawaki confessed that he knew his mother had passed away as her body had turned cold, but fear of social interaction stopped him from reporting the death. DNA tests confirmed the remains belonged to his mother, and while no evidence of foul play or murder has been found, police continue to investigate the exact cause of death.
