“Make a deal now or face worse attacks”: Trump issues final warning, claims report

Washington (The Uttam Hindu) - US President Donald Trump on Wednesday issued a stern warning to Iran, saying that it should immediately come to the negotiating table for a deal on nuclear weapons, otherwise the next military attack from America will be more terrible than ever before. Trump wrote on the social media platform 'Truth' that Iran does not have much time now and there is an urgent need for a fair and just agreement, in which there is no scope for nuclear weapons.

Trump recalled that during his first term, the US withdrew from the 2015 multilateral nuclear deal. He claimed that his previous warnings had led to military action against Iran, and that if the situation escalated again, the next attack would be much more serious. The president also indicated that another US warship was heading towards Iran.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed Trump's claims, saying he had no formal contact with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in recent days, nor had any requests for talks been made. However, Iran's semi-official Iranian Students News Agency claimed that the two sides were exchanging messages informally.

Trump has previously warned Iran several times, stating that Iran's nuclear program was completely dismantled after the June attacks. Following Trump's latest statement, crude oil prices in the international market reached session highs. Amid rising tensions, several countries have offered to mediate between the US and Iran to prevent further escalation.
