Johannesburg (The Uttam Hindu): On the second day of the G-20 Summit in Johannesburg, France’s President Emmanuel Macron walked through the crowded hall and approached the Indian delegation with a warm smile. Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted him with a friendly handshake, and both leaders posed for photographs. Their camaraderie was clearly visible, even amid camera flashes. During the brief interaction, Macron praised the strong India–France partnership, while PM Modi described the friendship between the two nations as a positive force for the world’s future.

What Did President Macron Say After Meeting PM Modi?

Following his meeting with Prime Minister Modi, President Emmanuel Macron expressed his happiness on social media platform X. He wrote, “Thank you, my friend Narendra Modi. When nations move forward together, they become even stronger. May the friendship between our countries remain eternal!”

PM Modi also appreciated the interaction and shared a post in French on X, saying: “It was a pleasure meeting President Macron during the G-20 Summit in Johannesburg. We had useful discussions on several issues. The close India–France partnership continues to be a major force for global good.”

PM Modi’s Other Meetings at the G-20 Summit

On the sidelines of the summit, PM Modi held talks with several world leaders. He met UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Malaysia’s PM Anwar Ibrahim, South Korea’s President Lee Jae-myung, Brazil’s President Lula da Silva, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

Addressing the opening session of the G-20 leaders’ meeting, PM Modi called for a comprehensive rethink on global development standards.
