New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Narendra Modi will hold an important meeting with Chief Ministers from across the country via video conferencing on March 27th. It is expected that the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, particularly the situation related to Iran, and their potential impact on India will be discussed in detail. Election-bound states have been excluded from this meeting.

Earlier, on March 24, the Prime Minister had stated in the Rajya Sabha that if the Iran crisis continues for a long time, it could have serious global and domestic implications. He described it as a "big test like the COVID-19 era" and emphasized the need for coordination between the central government and the states.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has dismissed reports of a shortage of petrol, diesel, and LPG as completely false. According to the ministry, India has sufficient crude oil and fuel reserves to last approximately 60 days, ensuring no supply disruptions.

The government has labeled reports of shortages circulating on social media as "misleading" and "propaganda." The ministry stated that such rumors are intended to spread panic in the market and encourage panic buying. It also warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading false news .

Meanwhile, during an all-party meeting in Parliament, S. Jaishankar clarified that India does not play the role of a mediator in any international dispute. He said that India is "not a broker country like Pakistan." This statement came in response to Congress leader Tariq Anwar's remarks alleging Pakistan's role.

Overall, in view of the current global situation, the Central Government is alert and is working with the states to prepare strategies to deal with every possible challenge.
