Sana (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic incident took place on the Yemeni coast on Sunday, where a boat carrying Ethiopian migrants capsized in the Gulf of Aden. At least 68 people drowned in this horrific tragedy, while 74 others are still missing. The rescue team has succeeded in rescuing 10 people safely.

The incident took place off the coast of Yemen's Abyan province in the early hours of Sunday. According to local officials, there were a total of 154 people on the boat, all of whom were Ethiopian citizens. These migrants were trying to go to Saudi Arabia via Yemen in search of better employment, when their boat lost balance and capsized in the sea. The 10 people rescued include 9 Ethiopians and 1 Yemeni citizen.

International Organization for Migration (IOM) chief Abdusattor Asov confirmed the incident. He told the media that this is one of the worst tragedies of recent times. Asov said, "A boat carrying 154 Ethiopian migrants capsized in the Gulf of Aden near the southern Yemeni province of Abyan early Sunday."

Currently, rescue workers are carrying out a massive rescue operation to search for missing people and recover bodies. The incident highlights the dangerous routes that migrants often take in search of a better life.
