Munir and Shehbaz Sharif support Trump Nobel bid, demand raised in Punjab Assembly
Demand for Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize gains momentum in Pakistan, proposal introduced in Punjab Assembly with leadership support.

Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu): A resolution has been tabled in Pakistan’s Punjab Assembly recommending the nomination of Army Chief Asim Munir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for the Nobel Peace Prize. The proposal was introduced by Rana Arshad chief whip of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The resolution highlights Pakistan’s diplomatic role during rising tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States. It states that the country’s leadership played an important part in easing tensions and promoting stability at a time when the situation posed a serious threat to global peace.
It also notes that the recent two-week conditional ceasefire between the US and Iran has provided temporary relief after weeks of conflict. Pakistan is now preparing to host direct talks between the two sides, with the aim of strengthening the ceasefire and preventing further escalation in the West Asia region.
