Pakistan Air Force on high alert after Delhi blast, fighter jets patrol border

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Following the Delhi bombings, Pakistan has launched panicked air patrols along its border with Rajasthan. The chiefs of Pakistan's three armed forces held an emergency meeting, while Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also discussed the situation late into the night with the National Security Advisor (NSA) and the ISI chief.
Pakistan Air Force on alert after Delhi blast, fighter jets patrolling border; Britain issues advisory to its citizens : Following the blast, the UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has issued an advisory against travel to certain areas of India. The British government has advised its citizens to avoid travel within a 10-km radius of the India-Pakistan border, as well as to the states of Jammu and Kashmir and Manipur.
Initially, 11 people were reported dead in the Delhi blast, but three hours after the incident, Home Minister Amit Shah announced that eight deaths had been confirmed. A list released by hospital authorities subsequently listed the death toll at nine.
The US Embassy has also issued a warning to its citizens, urging them to avoid the Red Fort and tourist sites nearby and to remain vigilant at all times. The French Embassy reported that the blast occurred near the Red Fort Metro station at around 7 pm on November 10. The cause of the explosion and the exact number of casualties have not yet been confirmed.
The embassy advised French citizens in Delhi to remain vigilant and avoid crowded areas and the scene of the incident. It also urged its citizens to register on the "Fil d'Ariane" portal so they can be contacted immediately in case of an emergency.
