Pakistan Unhappy with India-Afghanistan Friendship; Asif Calls Kabul a ‘Puppet of Delhi’

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has once again launched a series of accusations against India and Afghanistan. Asif claimed that Afghanistan has become a “puppet of India” and is spreading terrorism in Pakistan at Delhi’s direction. Speaking on the TV program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath”, Asif warned that if Afghanistan attempts any attack on Pakistan, it will be met with a response “50 times stronger.” He also alleged that India is taking revenge for its defeat on the western border through Kabul.
India Blamed for Breakdown of Peace Talks
Recently held Pakistan-Afghanistan peace talks in Istanbul collapsed abruptly. Asif blamed India, saying that whenever an agreement was close, Kabul would receive a call from Delhi, and the talks would stop. He said, “We were close to reaching a deal, but after a phone call from Delhi, Kabul backed out.”
Asif also admitted that Pakistan has allowed the U.S. to conduct drone operations within its territory. According to him, this issue triggered the breakdown of talks as the Afghan side strongly objected to it.
The minister further alleged that Afghanistan has been using terrorists for the past four years and warned, “If Afghanistan even dares to look towards Islamabad, we will pluck out its eyes.”
Asif accused both Kabul and Delhi of “playing the terror game” and claimed that India is targeting Pakistan through its so-called ‘Operation Sindoor.’ He added that several Afghan leaders “visit temples in India” and accused India of waging a proxy war through Afghanistan.
The second round of talks held in Istanbul on October 25 failed despite mediation by Qatar and Turkey. Asif warned that if peace efforts collapse, an “open war” could erupt. He concluded by saying, “Kabul is responsible for terrorism, and Delhi is the mastermind. Pakistan will retaliate to any attack with full force.”
