New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Pakistan’s hopes have been dashed as the United States has clarified that it is not preparing to supply any new advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM) to Pakistan. The U.S. Embassy in India issued a statement on Friday, dismissing recent speculation circulating in foreign media.

Several international reports had claimed that the U.S., as part of its efforts to improve diplomatic ties with Pakistan, was considering supplying AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles. These reports suggested that Pakistan had been listed among potential buyers in a recent U.S. Defense Department contract.

However, the U.S. Embassy has made it clear that on September 30, 2025, the Department of Defense only released a list of standard contract announcements, which included modifications related to maintenance and spare parts under existing foreign military sales agreements with multiple countries, including Pakistan.

The statement emphasized that no new AMRAAM missiles or upgrades are being provided to Pakistan. The agreement, it said, pertains solely to maintenance and existing equipment support, not to the delivery of new weapons.
